Herkimer diamonds are some of the brightest stones. Despite their name, they are not diamonds. They are quartz. When they were first discovered, they were given the name diamonds because of their clarity and brightness. If you've ever held a palm full of these magical little stones, you know that they do indeed look and sparkle like diamonds. The other part of their name comes from where they are mined, in Herkimer County, New York. Similar stones have been found in other parts of the world but they can't be called Herkimers. They are found in pockets and the stones are clear and bright, right from the ground. They are known for their high vibration and happy energy. Also known as the dream stone, they can help get clarity in ones dreams. They are also used by healers as a way to connect with those they are working on.

Herkimer Diamond

This is so much prettier than the picture shows. It has a couple of terminations on one end of a single herkimer. Good clarity in some areas. Bright and shiny. It has some iron inside and out which gives it a nice yellow tone on one termination. The iron is a nice grounding aspect. There are also a few carbon bits inside as well. This is a sweet stone. #herk11

Herkimer Diamond With 2 Babies

This herkimer diamond is a nice size (like a ping pong ball) to work with. It has 2 small herkimer crystals on one side. And one of the "babies" has a baby on it as well. There is iron inside the stone, giving it a nice yellow-orange color. There are also carbon flecks. It has a couple of rough areas where it was originally against another stone. It has a nurturing maternal energy to it. Sweet! #herk12

Herkimer Diamond

This is a nice, bright and shiny stone filled with rainbows and what is called a skeletal structure. Sometimes these are enhydros, but I haven't spotted any water in it yet. There is some iron too, as well as carbon flecks. There are a couple of rough areas where it appears to have been next to another stone. There is also a baby herkimer on one side. A nice stone. #herk13

Large Herkimer Diamond

This stone is much brighter than the picture shows. It has some nice clear areas that are filled with rainbows. There is iron on the outside of the stone, adding a bit of a grounding effect. It has a ding on one termination and there are other rough areas. It has a nice, wise old energy to it.  #herk14

Herkimer Diamond

This bright and beautiful stone is missing one of it's terminated ends. But it sits flat on that end so you don't even see it. It is a very shiny stone with many internal rainbows. Some iron and carbon add to it's beauty. Despite not being fully intact, this quartz has a very high buzzy vibration. A great stone if you need to be energized! #herk15

Herkimer Diamond with Moving Carbon

This is a fun herkimer! It has an area of brightness that reflects the light well. And inside this area is a pocket, possibly an old enhydro site, that now has free moving carbon bits in it. When you move the stone, the carbon moves. A bit of the matrix rock is still attached to the stone too. #herk16

Herkimer Diamond with Iron

There is so much to look at inside of this stone. Beautiful light catching veils give off numerous rainbows. Iron has found it's way into numerous areas, giving the stone a lovely golden yellow color. There are some rough areas that appear to have been smoothed slightly, as if by water. It also appears to have an area that is self healed, so it would be a great stone for someone who is trying to heal. An interesting piece. #herk17

Large Self Healed Herkimer Diamond

This is a big herkimer! (It's like a flattened baseball.) There are some incredible areas of brightness and rainbows. The end terminations are not intact. Instead, there are areas that have self healed. This would be a wonderful stone for someone in need of healing, as this stone knows how to do it! Remnants of the matrix stone are still on the back of the stone. A very interesting piece. #herk18

Large Herkimer Diamond

This is a nice large piece, like the size of a baseball. It has what's known as a skeletal structure inside of it, which plays with the light well. One face seems to have been effected by water, or something that made part of the quartz go away, leaving behind and interesting triangular shape. I guess this could be called the ultimate record keeper crystal! There are some self healed areas, as well as some of the matrix stone still attached to the quartz. There is a lot going on with this herkimer. #herk19

Herkimer Diamond

This is a sweet herkimer, filled with lovely veils as well as areas of good clarity. Some iron has decided to grow along with the quartz, giving it a lovely golden yellow color. There is a lot to look at in this one. It has a high vibration, but not buzzy or spacey feeling. There are a couple of rough areas, as well as a "key" mark where another crystal had been at some point. #herk20
