Quartz Spheres and Crystal Balls Page 2

Spheres, also known as globes or crystal balls, can be made from different types of quartz, as well as from a variety of minerals. Clear quartz, amethyst, citrine, rose quartz and included quartz, such as rutilated or tourmalinated quartz, make beautiful spheres. Calcite, marble, lapis, jade, charoite and sugilite are just a few examples of the different minerals that are made into spheres. Even minerals that are usually thought of as gemstones can be shaped into spheres. Examples of these are ruby, emerald, aquamarine and tourmaline. Usually non-gem grade material is used for these spheres, but they are still beautiful and unique. Even some opals like sandstone opal and Oregon opal have been made into spheres.

The round shape of spheres is considered an asset in the metaphysical world. It is thought that a sphere gives off energy in a 360-degree area, instead of having a very focused energy like you find coming from the point of a crystal. This becomes very beneficial to a room where one wants to enhance a particular energy. A rose quartz, which is a stone that is all about love and opening ones heart, is a nice addition to a bedroom. Some people like rose quartz in a meeting room to help people stay heart based in their dealings with one another. An amethyst sphere would be nice in a meditation area. Clear quartz is useful in an office or living room. Some therapists use lapis spheres in their offices, as it aids in communication.

Spheres have been used in massage and during the laying on of stones. Some people collect spheres specifically while others just like them as art pieces or even as paper weights. Some Feng Shui practitioners prefer the energy of natural stones to that of the leaded glass spheres commonly used in Feng Shui.

Star Marble

This is a sweet sphere made of star marble. It is white and sparkles in the light. There are a few faint veins of grey and green. Very pretty. It would make a nice addition to a sphere collection. Comes with a hematite ring to sit on. S-61

2 inches.

$30

Petrified Wood

This fun little sphere is made from a piece of petrified wood. It has lovely rings in brown, tan and white. And there is a small cave too that you can see in the picture. Pretty.  #S-73

1 1/2 inches

$34

Clear Quartz

This is such a lovely sphere. It is almost all clear. There are just enough internal veils to make it interesting as they are wispy and etheric. Unfortunately, someone was looking at it and the dropped it, leaving the impact mark you can see in the picture. Then they were so flustered, the dropped it again, leaving yet another impact mark. Arg! Poor sphere! So it needs a loving home with someone who has steady hands. The clarity is good for those trying to find just that in their lives. It has a sweet, soft, energy.  #S-74

2 1/2 inches

It used to be $170, now $75.

Fluorite

This is a green fluorite sphere with a few bands of yellow. There are lines and veils all over the sphere. It is a darker green that it appears in the picture. You'll want to keep it out of direct sunlight as the sun will drain it of it's color (this applies to amethyst as well).  #S-76

2 inches

$35
