Amethyst Crystals

Amethyst are a beautiful form of purple quartz. They grow in a variety of colors, from pale lavender to deep dark purples. Though Brazil is known as the amethyst capital with it's abundance of amethyst geodes, the stone can be found in other places as well. Bolivia has some beautiful specimens that are known for their deep color and unusually large crystals found in clusters. Uruguay has the deep dark purple stones that are made into gemstones. South America isn't the only place amethyst grows. Africa has some exquisite specimens, especially the clusters known as "Spirit Amethyst". Ontario has "Thunder Bay Amethyst" that are a deep purple with a covering of red hematite. The USA has multiple areas that amethyst grows in small crystals as well as scepters along with smoky quartz. Austria and Russian also mine amethyst.

Amethyst has been used for centuries for it's metaphysical properties. It was used by the Greeks to guard against intoxication, to help keep one protected and for good health. Since those days, amethyst has continued to be used by different cultures as a talisman for good health, protection and prosperity. It is used in stone layouts, elixirs and jewelry to be of benefit to it's user. The energy of the stone corresponds to the 7th, or crown chakra. It is used by people to help get them on their spiritual path. It helps open them to universal knowledge, universal truth and energy. It is a gentle stone and is used by beginning crystal enthusiasts and energy workers, as well as experienced practitioners. It's a lovely stone with much to offer.

Pretty Amethyst

This is such a sweet crystal. It has great color, great veils and a bit of iron inside that looks a bit like a flame. Unfortunately, the stone got some dings during shipping. There are a few tiny nicks as well as a couple of larger dings, all are along the edges of the faces. I hesitated to put it on the web site, but the energy of this stone is so sweet, and it is so lovely that I thought I'd go ahead. The price has been reduced.  #Amethyst-3

Unique Amethyst

This is a fun amethyst. It has great color, nice deep purples of various shades throughout the crystal. There are a ton of internal veils and wisps that catch the light. Lots of rainbows and some iron near the bottom. The bottom of the stone was cut in a free form angle. The stone stands with no problem. There are a few very tiny nicks along one small side of the face. The energy of this stone is almost water like, helping one to become more flexible and less stubborn. A good stone to help overcome holding yourself back. #Amethyst-7

Beautiful Amethyst

This crystal has a lovely deep purple color throughout the stone with some areas of white quartz in patches (the back side of the crystal is more uniform purple). I realize this photograph makes it look more like charoite but the stone definitely looks like an amethyst in person. There are tons of internal veils and wisps that play with the light. Stunning. This stone feels very gentle and fluid like, yet with a "get it done" feel as well.  #Amethyst-8

Amethyst Phantom

This is a really beautiful amethyst phantom. It has lovely purple phantom lines along the top of the crystal that sit atop light purple and clear quartz. There is a nice balance of veils and wisps as well as some areas that are clearer. There are numerous rainbows and some iron inclusions. There are a few minor nicks. Some are from the natural inclusions in the crystal that came to the surface through polishing it. Others are from shipping. I was going to not put it on the web site but it is such a beautiful crystal, I decided to go for it. The energy of this stone has to do with looking at the layers of your life. Ametrine

Ametrine is a combination of amethyst and citrine so you get the purple of the amethyst mixed with the golden citrine. It isn't as abundant as amethyst so it is rarer and therefore more expensive. The combination this stone works at both the 3rd and the 7th chakra. This AA grade crystal has intense deep purples and rich golds in the upper part of the stone. Unfortunately, it got a couple of small nicks in shipping along the edges of one of the faces. But it hasn't altered the energy of the stone, and we have discounted it's price. It's a nice big crystal with gentle energy.  #Amethyst-10

Sweet Amethyst
