Information on Healing Stones, Chakra Symbols
 Stones
have been used for centuries as healing tools. Many were used
as protection, to keep away negativity, or to keep one safe from harm.
They were worn in jewelry, crowns, placed in bags and carried as amulets
or taken internally as an elixir. So the practice of using stones to
enhance our well being is nothing new. More and more people are becoming
frustrated with Western medicines approach to health and quality of
life. "Treat the symptoms with medication" or "cut it
out" seems to be a regular answer. As more people look for alternatives,
the wonderful ability of stones to help us is becoming more evident.
And stone therapy is also a wonderful aid to the Western approach.
Listed below are many stones and their metaphysical
definitions. Of
course, we have to add a disclaimer. This information is not meant
to replace any treatments currently being taken. It is not meant to
replace proper medical attention. It is shared so that one can enhance
their knowledge of how stones have been used to enhance health and
harmony. This information has come from "Love is in the Earth" by

In these definitions, you'll see the word "chakra". Chakras
are the energy centers of the body. They are vortexes that bring energy
to and from the body. There are hundreds of charkras throughout the
body but here we focus on the 7 major ones. These are very brief descriptions.

CHAKRAS
#1. At base of the spine.
Color is red. It's about physical vitality,
grounding, fight-or-flight responses.
#2. In the pelvic region.
Color is orange. It's about sexuality and
creativity.
#3. Around the naval area.
Color is yellow. It's about personal will,
personal power. We store stress, anger and fear in this area. (Just
look at how many antacids are in use). It also governs the digestive
organs, liver, kidneys, adrenal glands, pancreas, spleen.
#4. At the heart.
Color is green or pink. It's all about love. Unconditional
love for self and others. A very important chakra to have open and
balanced.
#5. At the throat.
Color is sky blue. It's all about communication.
Speaking your truths and true feelings.
#6. At the forehead.
Color is indigo blue. It's all about intuition.
Inner knowledge. Inner truths.
#7. At the top of the head, the crown.
Color is purple, or violet.
It's all bout spirituality. Opening to universal energy and knowledge.

AMAZONITE

AMETHYST, VERA CRUZ
Provides an immediate Beta state. Gently stimulates throat and heart

AMETRINE
Aids with meditation. Disperses negativity from the aura. Fills the

Supports chakras 1,2,3, and 4. Great stone for women. Increases personal

CELESTITE
Stone of balance. Promotes a pleasant disposition. Provides access
to, and transfer of, information from the pure angelic realms. Contains
an innate wisdom that is accessible to the user. Helps one see the
difference between want and need. Brings hope in times of despair,
bringing calmness and harmony to ones life. Dismisses worry. Great
for the quest of bliss. Great healing stone. Transmutes pain into
light.
CHRYSACOLLA
Revitalizes and calms 1st, 2nd, and 3rd chakras. Opens the heart chakra.
Provides great inner strength. Promotes harmony and the release of

CHRYSOPRASE
Activates, opens, and energizes the heart chakra. Facilitates deep

A stone of prosperity and productivity. A stone of health. Aids in

HOLLY BLUE AGATE
(Rare)
Facilitates communication between the physical and the spiritual worlds.

IOLITE
One of the major stones for use in the third eye/crown area during
healing, meditation and astral travel. Gently helps one with spiritual
growth. Strengthens the auric field. Has been used by shamans to
insure accuracy of visions. Helps one to stay in the present moment.
Helps lessen fatty deposits and to rid the body of toxins.
JADE
Brings peace. Helps dissolve self limitations. Dream stone. Teaches

JASPER, PICTURE

A very good grounding and protective stone. Being Volcanic glass, it
can help one get in touch with earth energies and those deep emotions
