So I would like to introduce you to some powerful crystals that can help alleviate stress and promote a sense of calm in your daily life. Crystals have been used for centuries as tools for healing and balancing energies, and they can be a wonderful addition to your stress management routine.

1. Amethyst: Known as a calming stone, amethyst can help relieve stress, anxiety, and insomnia. It promotes relaxation and tranquility, allowing you to find inner peace amidst the chaos.

2. Rose Quartz: This gentle pink crystal is often associated with love and compassion. It can help dissolve emotional wounds, reduce stress, and restore harmony in relationships. Rose quartz encourages self-love and self-care, which is crucial in managing stress.

3. Lepidolite: This lithium based mineral, with its soothing energy, is a great stone for stress relief. It helps calm an overactive mind, reduces anxiety, and promotes restful sleep. Within a matter of a few weeks, our world has completely changed as a result of the corona virus. We are now sheltering in place, trying to keep ourselves and loved ones safe. We are washing our hands constantly. People are donning masks and gloves to go get essentials like food and medication. All of those things are beneficial. But there is more to staying healthy than barriers and disinfectant. We need to support our beautiful, built in system that keeps us healthy..our immune system.

We all know about ways to keep our immune system healthy. Eat the right foods, get enough rest, take the proper supplements. But what about the impact that our emotions have on this brilliant system? What role do they play? Well, they play a very big roll. The wide spread fear and panic that we are experiencing is taking its toll on our well being. The minute by minute death toll, the constant barrage of statistics and percentages of how bad the world is, it all has an affect on how we feel. I’m not saying that what is going on right now isn’t horrible. It is. But we need to find ways to help our bodies stay healthy, and attending to our emotions is an important part. 

And this is where the wonderful world of crystals and minerals can benefit us. Different stones can help us with a variety of ways to enhance our wellbeing. Here are a few examples:

Grounding: 

This is so important right now. We are spending a lot of time in our heads worrying, think, think, thinking, spinning, stressing. A great way to combat this is to get grounded! 

Obsidian, smoky quartz or black tourmaline are great grounding and protection stones. Hold them, meditate with them, carry some in your pocket, place them under your bed or on your night table.

A quick easy to get grounded is to go outside and stand on the earth barefoot. Feel the earths energy. Feel your feet sink into the ground a bit. This gives your immune system a nice rest and recharge.

Get in your heart:

Since we are so heady right now, it is important that we get into our hearts. Getting into that place of love and compassion is a serious immunity booster. It kicks fear and worry to the curb, where they belong. They don’t do anything except exhaust us so let them go!

Rose quartz, aventurine, emerald, rhodochrosite, pink or green tourmaline are all wonderful stones to help you make that journey from head to heart. Have them on your body as much as possible. When you hold them, say, “I am choosing to stay in my heart. I am choosing love.” Or come up with your own phrase that will reinforce you choosing to stay out of fear.

Support your physical vitality:

Everything that is going on right now can zap our vitality. Worry and stress are exhausting! And our immune systems need all the energy they can get right now.

Quartz crystals, red jasper, ruby, red aventurine are all good stones for our physical vitality. Carry some in your pocket, or wear them in jewelry if you have them.

Give your third chakra a little love:

Your third chakra is in the area of your abdomen near your belly button. This chakra governs a lot! Think of how many organs are in your abdomen and you get the idea. It is the area where we hang on to stress, fear, worry, anger. It can be an intense area! A lot of people are having digestion issues right now. Want to guess why? Emotions affect the physical.

Citrine Crystal

Citrine, heliodor (golden beryl), topaz, quartz are some stones that help support this very busy chakra. Citrine is my favorite. Hold the stones, place them on your abdomen, wear them if possible. Take some nice deep belly breaths throughout the day, stretching your belly out, letting the fear and angst go with each exhale.

These suggested stones are just that, suggestions. Use your intuition and see what stones you are drawn to right now. You may be drawn to hold a smoky quartz to your abdomen, or to wear blue lace agate or amethyst. Go with what you are drawn to. Your body knows what it wants and what it needs. It is time we pay attention and trust those messages it gives us.

It is known for creating feelings of peace and harmony and can help in stressful situations in the home, office or an individual. The dysfunction of dis-ease is caused when the body is out of balance. Colors vary on each stone and can include calcite, pyrite and denim lapis. These different minerals can add an extra dimension to the piece with many people seeing various designs within the stone. Add that to the style and shape of the piece and you can see why each piece has a different appeal to each person.

Have you noticed the stress level going up, up, up around the world? Are you getting sucked into it? It’s hard to avoid. Sometimes we find ourselves even adding to it! The key is to be conscious. stressed woman

Take a break from the news and the barrage of negativity that the media throws our way. Be conscious. 

What stories do you share? What stories do you tell yourself, your body? Do you focus on your blessings or on what you don’t have? Be conscious. 

Who do you hang out with? Positive people, or a bunch of Debbie Downers and Negative Nellies? Be conscious. 

If you find yourself in a negative state, take a deep breath, relax your shoulders and jaw, and SMILE. Even if it is fake, it still has the effect of decreasing your cortisol levels, thus reducing your stress level. Be conscious.

You have five wonderful helpers at your disposal at all times. Your senses! Use your senses to decrease your stress level:

Taste:

Be conscious with each bite or sip you take. Really enjoy it. Taste it. Feel the texture. Know that you are being nourished. Truly enjoy it instead of eating and drinking without even noticing you are doing it.

Sight:

Look around you and see the beauty. Really look. See things you don’t usually pay attention to.tumbled stones

Notice the intricacy of a flower, the grandness of a tree or the lovely smile of the person near you.

See the beauty you possess.

Hearing:

Listen to the beautiful sounds around you. Search for them. Hear the birds, the buzzing of a bee, the wind in the trees.

Hear the loving and kind words others share with you. Really take in those beautiful words and let them fill your heart.

Tell yourself you love YOU and are grateful for all that YOU do.

Smell:

Notice the smells around you. Stop and smell a rose. 

Inhale the aroma of the wonderful food you are eating.

Smell the scent of Mother Nature…the earth, the flowers, the air.

Touch: 

Get or give a hug.

Get a massage or Reiki treatment.

Just gently sweeping down each arm can bring in some calmness.

Place your hands over your heart while thinking of things you are grateful for.

Quartz CrystalHold a beautiful stone or crystal. Feel it’s smoothness and healing energy. Lapis, rose quartz, lepidolite, clear quartz and others are calming. Smoky quartz, black tourmaline, obsidian and pyrite are grounding and protective.

Be conscious. We can’t control others behavior. We can only control our own, our reactions to the stressors of the world. We get to choose how we react. Using simple techniques to decrease our stress helps us choose how we react wisely.

Do you some times feel off balance? Is your energy low?  Quite often the cause of feeling off kilter is that your body’s energy is out of balance. This may be due to illness, injury, a broken relationship, problems at work, family pressure, anxiety, stress, or some days you just feel blah. 

Whatever the reason, the fundamental problem for your body may be that your energy field is no longer in alignment. For those of you who remember, it’s like those old flexible telephone cords and how they used to get tangled and knotted and would be difficult to untangle so you could move to where no one (parents) could hear you talking to your friends. The same can happen to the flow of energy through your body. The problems talked about above cause your energy field to be disrupted or blocked and the negative emotions you are feeling can escalate. This escalation of negative emotions in turn impacts your energy field even more and the downward cycle continues.

One potential aid in overcoming these blockages is by using crystals. Yes that’s right, crystals! Crystals radiate energy that help clear blocked energy that can cause pain or tension and increase the flow of healing energy throughout the body. Crystals work with the energy blockages that cause illness not the actual illness itself. Emotionally, crystals won’t change you from being an unpleasant person to a saint but they will help in opening up your emotions to improve your joy and serenity.

Citrine Crystal

Citrine is a wonderful stone to support the third chakra, the one where we store self-criticisms, self-doubts. This chakra is also a source of our personal will, our personal power. This stone is good at clearing the energy in the space it is placed in. It dissipates and transmutes negativity. Some use it to help release fear and bring happiness and brightness into ones life.

Rose quartz helps us get in our hearts. When we spend time in our hearts instead of our heads, we start getting in touch with our higher self. From this place we get to choose if what we are doing is in our best interest or not. When we have unconditional love and compassion for ourselves, we feel happier, grounded and more in control.

Clear quartz, or a quartz crystal, can help energize and balance all of your chakras or energy centers. When these centers are in balance, our physical body can handle stress better. We can pull from the infinite source of energy from the universe, or the divine, instead of draining our personal energy centers in an attempt to keep harmony within the body.

 

Smoky quartz is a wonderful grounding and protective stone. Many times, when we are working too much or our schedules are way too full, we get “heady.” We spend so much time in our go-modes that we lose our connection to our bodies. This can be dangerous as we stop listening to the subtle clues our body give us when it is suffering. Being grounded helps maintain that connection to our bodies as well as to the earth (and her magnetic force.) Putting your bare feet on the ground daily can really help, as can smoky quartz, black tourmaline and hematite.

Herkimer diamonds are a form of quartz that have a lovely, happy, high vibration. Many people find that they feel better and lighter after holding a herkimer

Lapis Lazuli, although not a crystal like a quartz crystal, is known for it’s soothing and calming effect. Just looking at the deep blue color can instantly reduce you stress level. It also is a stone of communication. This could be helpful if you need to communicate with your boss, co-workers or partners that you are in overwhelm and need some time. 

Crystals and minerals not only help with energy flow but they are also pleasing to look at and add an extra dimension to your home or office. You can hold them while you meditate (this can be as little as a few minutes), place them under your pillow at night, carry one with you, or just have it on your desk or at home. Allow the crystals to help you release the blahs and return to a state of harmony.

What can you do to help relieve stress? Analysis? Medication? Alcohol? There is a simpler way. Crystals and minerals. STOP. Don’t delete this, just keep reading. It will only take a minute and it could help change your life.

You may be thinking this New Age talk is airy fairy and a waste of time and “how can this help me?” Well, let me tell you. Crystals and minerals radiate an energy that can have a healing effect on the body and mind all you have to do is allow it.

All you have to do is have the crystal or mineral on your person, on your desk or just somewhere in your office. At differenttimes of the day, when you are at your most stressed, just take a couple of minutes and focus on the piece while taking a few deep breaths.  Just let your mind clear and keep breathing. When you feel your intensity level dropping and you feel calm give yourself a little time and then you can resume work. You have just given your body and mind a breather and trust me you will feel a lot better for doing so.

 

I know a lot of you will be reluctant to use crystals because of peer pressure and the related negative comments. That is why I would recommend Lapis. This beautiful blue stone not only has energetic qualities but is also a great display piece for your desk or office. It varies in size from a pocket rock to our magnificent Harmony in Blue weighing over 100 lbs. You can benefit from it while your coworkers are more intrigued than derisive.

What is Karoshi and Which Stones Can Help?

Karoshi is a Japanese term for “death from overwork”. In 2015 police statistics in Japan indicate that 2,159 suicides were recorded as problems related to work. This does not include deaths from heart attack, stroke or other deaths or illness related to stress from overwork.

How big a problem is it? A national survey in Japan showed that 20% of the country’s workforce are at risk of karoshi because they work more that 80 hours overtime every month. Over 10% of corporation employees put in over 100 hours of overtime per month. The overtime is often unpaid and is expected, by senior management, to guarantee job security and promotion.

American, Australian, British and European workers are generally not under such intense pressure but many still suffer from symptoms related to job related stress, whether it be the number of hours worked, pressure from managers or simply that they do not like the work they are doing.

What to do about it? The obvious would be to work less hours and have more days off or change jobs. If none of these options are available the next best thing is to try and minimize stress at the workplace. Going for a brief walk at lunch time, getting up and moving around the office and brief meditations at your desk can all help. If none of these are practical you might look into the healing power and energy balancing characteristics of crystals and minerals.

I know to a lot of people this is considered “airy fairy” and “New Age” mumbo jumbo but what do you have to lose? The worst that could happen is that you would have a beautiful crystal or mineral that could adorn your desk while radiating positive energy to you and those around you. Small time periods of holding the crystal and clearing the mind can help in resolving confusion and stress. Even having the stone close to you can help. As the stress eases start adding positive thoughts and soon the workplace and future begin to look brighter.

Have you ever heard people say that a stone or crystal helped them with a specific problem? Crystals and minerals have many different metaphysical properties that can aid us in many ways. One way that works the best with quartz crystals is called programming.

Programming is a form of setting the energy of the stone to help you with a specific task or problem. It’s a way of placing your intention into a stone. You can have a very focused programming, such as having the crystal help you with a particular health issue or changing a bad habit. Some people program a crystal to help them get ready for a future event, like a test, a job interview or an athletic event. Then there are more general, long term programs for sending healing energy to a large area like an ocean or a country, or global work.

ProgramCrystals-sliderming is quite easy and doesn’t actually take long. It does require you to calm your mind and to be clear as to what you want the crystal to help with. Being specific can help.

Cleanse your stone overnight in salt water (as long as it isn’t a soft material, like selenite or other stones that are fragile. Contact us if you have questions.) 

Crystals pick up energy and you want your clean and clear of other vibrations that could get in the way of your process. Salt water is a wonderful clearer of unwanted energies.

Ask the stone if it is open to being programmed. The first thing you “hear” in your head will be the answer…a simple yes or no. If you hear a no, you can try asking again. If you still get a no, please honor that. You can try with another crystal. Not all stones are open to being programmed in this way. 

Clear your mind and get a clear vision of what you want the stone to help you with. Then sit with the stone, placing it between both NQ-67b-quartz-crystalhands. Start placing that idea over and over again into the crystal. Ask the crystal to help you with whatever it is you need. Keep seeing your idea, or saying it to the stone. Use your intuition and keep doing the practice until you feel it is done. Then thank the stone and remove your hands. Your crystal is now programmed and ready to work. If you don’t feel like it really took, or maybe your mind started to wander off during the process, just start over. 

When you have accomplished what you asked the stone to help you with, or you are ready for it to have a different job, cleanse it overnight in salt water, making it your intention that it release the past programming. Ask it’s permission and start a new programming session.

If you have set your stone up to do an ongoing job, like healing the earth, it may need a booster programming now and then. Again, use your intuition to check in with the stone and start the programming sequence. 

Crystals and minerals are amazing gifts to help us along our journey. Utilize them with gratitude and for the highest good of all and they won’t let you down.

When the calendar turns over into a new year, many focus on what they want to accomplish in the next 12 months. What goals do they want to accomplish, what resolutions do they have. I resolved not to do resolutions many years ago and it is the only resolution I have ever really kept. So why do we only focus on things being new one time a year? It’s like Thanksgiving where we focus on being grateful for one day. What would happen if we focused on the new every day?

1It goes back to the idea of being in the present moment. Yes, it is good to plan for the future. Yes, it is good to think about what you want to do, to dream big about where you want your life to go. But many times we get stuck in the past or lost in the future and we lose the glorious NOW. The NOW is all we really have, and with every second our NOW changes. A new NOW comes along. And another, and another and another. When we stop and look at our lives from this perspective, we see that every second is new. Every minute, hour and day is all new. A chance to do something new. A chance to think in new ways that suit the new you. The time to infuse your relationships with new energy. The perfect time to see new opportunities and to create new wonderful ideas.

Stones can help us stay in this present moment kind of thinking. Just carry a crystal or mineral in your pocket and every time you touch it, let it remind you to stop, breathe and take in the NOW. Have a beautiful crystal on your desk or table and when you look at it, remember everything is new from this moment forward. Quartz can be “programmed” to help you with this as well. Rose qRose quartz crystaluartz is wonderful to remind you to stay in your heart, which when we are in it, is totally in the present, open and loving. Smoky quartz is good for grounding us to the Mother Earth. If we spend too much time in our heads, or are kind of spacey, we are missing the NOW. Citrine is a lovely stone to help clear unwanted energies from your personal space, leaving you open to experience YOU, the real you unencumbered by everyone else’s energies.

I hope we all spend more time basking in the glorious newness of each moment and realize what that means….that we are living in a state of unlimited potential.

I have one simple question for you today…are you taking good care of yourself? Are you taking good care of all aspects of yourself? Physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually? All aspects need love and attention. If you answered YES, then we tip our hats to you and say congratulations! If you answered NO, then now is the time to make some small changes to help support the many facets that make up you, the whole you. 

Ask what you can do to support the physical. Do you need to alter your diet? Do you need to get out into the fresh air and move your body more? Drink more water? Get a massage? 

How about mentally? Perhaps a few minutes of meditation would be nice, or reading that book you’ve been wanting to read. Taking a class or learning something new is a good way to give some TLC to your mental side.

For your emotional side, is there something that needs to be changed in your life to give you more emotional happiness? Is there a relationship that needs attention or a change? Are you speaking your truth and asking for what you need? Are you getting what you need? Are you staying heart based during the day or are you zipping in and out of your head and ego? 

2Are you content with your spirituality? Have you been wanting to learn more about your own spiritual connections? Perhaps you have wanted to dive deeper into what your spirituality is, or move onto a different path altogether. Maybe finding a like-minded community would be a benefit.

It doesn’t take huge changes to make a difference in your life. Many things you do for one aspect of your life can also help fulfill another. Taking a walk supports your physical body but can also calm you down (aiding the emotional side) and help clear your mind (helping the mental) while getting you in touch with nature and a place of gratitude (supporting the spiritual side.) Four benefits in one action! Multi-tasking at it’s best!

I invite you to take a look at what needs TLC in your life and then dedicate some time to making those small changes that can have a huge impact on your wellbeing. You are so worth it.
